It is an 800m vertical autoclave. It uses the earths gravity (free energy) to process the coal instead of the (waste energy) heat from inefficient power stations that will be superseded by internal combustion coal engines.

That is the beauty of this technology, it is cheap and efficient so makes it competitive with the black coal it can substitute.

Why do you think the Exergen pilot plant was in Beaconsfield Tasmania? Because they used a disused gold mining shaft. There are a few shafts over 800m in Victoria, at Woods Point, Wahalla and Bendigo. Digging holes is what miners do.
