The legislation which has been around for a few years was that if the agent/landlord did not fix the cooking, hot water, sewage, water or the big hole in the roof in a reasonable time!the tenant could get emergency repairs done up to a reasonable limit. Which was about $300 from memory?
Also everyone has had the experience of trying to get a tradesman to a job and been told that they can't do it for a week. But tenants expect it to be done the same day
What they are talking about now probably bears no relationship to actual requirements or needs
