Good on you for taking a long-term view AND taking control.
Just a thought, but I think that commissions were initially, and still are (where they exist) a tool (and payment) of the product distributors. If you take the FP out of the equation, the 'fees' taken out by the manager won't reduce, they just get to keep it. Not sure where the thieving comes in, but everyon (including me) is entitled to their own opinion. :}
