    Hey Buddy,

    You and I have an interest in common here, assuming you have bores on your properties, and don't rely solely on mains?

    IN my experience (Gascoyne River bed bores irrigating bananas etc) the submersibles are lighter on power, don't have the capacity of a surface mounted centrifigual pump, BUT do push the water a hell of along way, which I needed to do.

    Additionally, the surface pumps (centrifugal) don't like air/gas, and drop the water, requiring priming again to restart. This arrangement would never have suited ESG with the variable flows expected particularly at startup, and although you can choke these pumps to control the drawdown, I believe a centrifugal to handle the combination of water/gas interruptions would be prohibitively expensive.

    Whereas the down hole submersibles, can cope with sucking gas/air although sediment and any solid contaminants needs to be monitored. The net reveals a good many products available from global manufacturers, and I think Sumitomo supply here already (could stand correcting) to the industry.

    In Casey's last OB about May though, he referred to having solved the technical difficulty in the field, and went on to talk about care needed not to break the SHAFT driving the submersible at such a depths!

    There's either a new method of powering submersibles that I'm not aware of OR he's not au fai with his OWN operation, because the beauty of submersibles is - you attached the pump to the tail pipe, lowering it gently into the shaft or well head, keep adding lengths to the tail pipe as needed, and of course the attached sealed electric cable accompanies said equipment down the hole to the required depth.

    Subs of course are self cooling so no issues there provided you monitor the drawdown and govern the pump rate accordingly.

    However, maybe with the combination of gas and water, there is a different set up down hole, though I understood the gas was syphoned of near the surface? PSI81, would be welcome to comment here again I dare say.
