Like I say - the world needs to continue the switch to renewable energy - and do it more quickly.
(And I don't know what made you think the cars I gave in my example aren't replacing cars running on oil.)
The fact that most aeroplanes burn fossil fuels is not a reason for ignoring coal fired power plants. The problem is being worked on for aeroplanes as well as power plants. (In Australia, coal fired power plants are by far the largest emission source - at 37%. Transport, including domestic air travel, produces 13.9%. Don't know what international air travel produces.)
Various solutions have already begun to be implemented, with many more possibilities in the pipeline - or hadn't you noticed. And both the major political parties have proposals for helping to speed up the transition and cut emissions to that agreed by John Howard - by at least 5% below 1990 levels - by 2020).
