"The device of the invention provides a means for driving the passage of active agents across the dermal barrier into a subject (including patient's) using the device. The utility of this device may be further enhanced by pairing it with an alternate drug delivery system that operates either in conjunction with, or parallel with, the device, to promote the passage of active agents through the dermal barrier. Such alternate drug delivery systems may include for example, iontophoresis, drug-adhesive matrix, mico-needles and sonophoresis."
