This may be nothing new however,
I had a look at Sumitomos soloman island website today(http://www.smm.co.jp/solomon/) and noted that there is a 34page 'environmental and social baseline study report' dated as of 13/9/2011.
doing a quick scan of the report it looks to be nothing new (undertaken in july this year) however I found it interesting that they may have uploaded it and dated it for their website as the 13/9/2011 - right before court starts.
Again quickly scanning the report i didnt see anything that jumped out as being majorly detrimental to environment/social/cultural aspects of any newly proposed mining developments and obviously sumitomo are not going to want to highlight anything if there was, as ultimately they want the mining rights.
However the date (13/9/2011 being so close to court)struck me as odd and I'm just wondering if they have somehow managed to stall the ultimate ruling over the case based on some of the findings (enivronmental, social, cultural impacts) from their report???
in other words a stalling tactic - that will/can ultimately damage/undermine axiom by shaking the faith of all shareholders, invested institutions etc, etc....???????
Just thinking aloud really
