It seems fairly obvious to me that anything that the banks will not finance is something to avoid.
There is a world of choice in real-estate.
The banks might not be right all the time, but they are likely on balance and over the time periods involved with realestate, to be more correct in their analysis than casual investors.
But really each to his own to decide what to do with whatever cashflow they have.
