Hi all - been out and about today - read the announcement last night and thought - "Sheesh - not what I hoped for".
Couldn't really see why it needed a TH, but then, if the decisions took some time to arrive at, MR would be criticized for not initiating a TH - seems the bloke can't win in the eyes of some!!
That aside, it is an essentially positive announcement, imo. Giving direction to WDLAC to continue talks indicates to me that a deal will come about. Negotiations have ramped up a notch or two (MA draft, WDLAC directed to advance the process) and this time with appropriate community involvement. Elders meeting to discuss the issue - again a positive thing, indicative of moving forward with appropriate development and appropriate community involvement.
Why shouldn't negotiations with TO groups be cumbersome? There's a lot to understand, and a lot to make decisions on from a community perspective, and it's much better to get it right than have it end in the debacle many of us lived through last time round.
Probably haven't added much to people's thoughts here, but really, MR is doing all he can to advance this project in the best way he can for shareholders. Best is not always quickest.
