    The blog the guy wrote said that he was out alone and set the camera up on a tripod to take the photo then raced back in time for the photo and it wasn't until the next day when he checked the photos that he saw the lion had been there behind him.

    The story would have been better if the lion had jumped on him and roughed him up a bit, but that's not how he told it. Perhaps the lion knew he wasn't going to be hauling that elk out of the woods, so all it had to do was wait.
