dgoransson..........correct me if I am wrong,but be aware that before 2005 the NYSE was operated by a different system of order execution than the ASX.For those reading the notes,the US had a system whereby MARKET MAKERS placed buy/sell orders through the exchange and thereby could SEE both sides of the trade and possibly arbritage from it.This is different to NYSE now and our system,where it is an open AUCTION and transactions are directly between buyer and seller. When reading Dgoranssons linked notes realise that they are talking about the old US system as opposed to ours.Although some of the notes are applicable,some of the detail is incorrect for our market.
