    I know theres "support" for Smith from WA,I cant see him getting up,I dont think anyone east of the Nullabor can identify with someone from WA,that was Kims issue(IMHO).
    Im sure Rudd wouldnt like a swing of that nature,but he could probably withstand it,if and its a big if,he did make a comeback,one would presume hed get a lift in polling numbers,(while nothing a sure bet)one would think that.

    Key to that would be for him to show the"new him",its not unbeleivable for him "to change" the key would be displaying it.
    Lets not forget (IMHO) his demise was because he was factionless,in this respect nothing has changed.
    While no polly heads could "roll",save Julia/maybe Swann one would have to think the power brokers behind the scenes would have to go,this IMHO would be the tipping point for Rudd to go where angels fear to tread.
