leased, everybody who has spent time in Indonesia, tourists excepted, know that there is a population of middle class Indonesians greater than the whole Australian population, and then there are the wealthy, the really wealthy. The economic crisis had little impact on them and the current younger generation from both these groups have plenty of money to spend and particularly like anything that is imported. Once upon a time drugs were only a problem amongst those that were at the bottom of the society, but prosperity has meant that affluent Indonesian kids are able to follow the example of westerners and the problem has shifted. This is why the new President is making new efforts to attack drug trafficking as it is having a noticeable effect on middle society.
