re: - prediction -rabbitoh Alas, rabbitoh, I am considerably older than you are.
I have seen war, and thought that with the demise of the Cold War, peace would reign forever. How naive I was!
But the new enemy is not visible! He can strike anywhere. He hates us so deeply he looks forward to dying just to get a few of us. This is a hole new ball game.
I am afraid I differ wih a lot of you guys on the subject of Iraq, because:
    1. He has NOT been linked to any acts of terrorism.
    2. Whatever he has done to his own people (the Kurds) is no worse than what has been done by other countries, including Australia if you count the massacres of Aboriginals long ago.
3.Saddam is NO real threat to the US. This is just a Bush agenda.
4.Saddam is no threat to us.

Now if we go along with the massacre of Iraq ( it wont be a war, it'll be a massacre from 50,00ft), we are going to unleash extra hatred towards us from new directions (possibly from within).
Dont get me wrong.I am not a wus. I would kill without batting an eye to protect my family or country.
I had nearly 20 years of horrible sweating, screaming nightmares that I couldnt remember or explain when I awoke or was woken by someone concerned. It was only a chance conversation with someone who was there at the time that triggered my repressed memory as to the cause of my sweats, and they disappeared.
I wouldnt wish that on anyone.
So think, rabbitoh, war is not pretty and a rotting corpse has no dignity.
I just fear that we are going to be in a situation where we will be too scared to take our families anywhere.

    Cheers
    grandpa GZ
