Secret audits on CSL Limited (ASX:CSL) reveal a series of manufacturing flaws.
Today’s Australian newspaper reports among the allegations, the US Food and Drug Administration claimed laboratory staff failed to wear masks while dispensing and mixing vaccines, and had inadequate investigations into product failures.
Freedom of information documents obtained by the paper said CSL took six months before they started investigating the cause of mysterious dark particles in the national stockpile of swine flu vaccines.
Audits of Australian operations haven’t been released.
The company, which is Australia’s largest pharmaceutical company, said the US audits only contained observations, not final determination of compliance.
CSL Limited (ASX:CSL) reported a net profit of $940.6 million for the six months to June this year.
