That would be correct. The Americans treasure their freedom of speech much more than we do in OZ.
I read somewhere, some years ago, that under our libel laws, because of the restrictions imposed by our antiquated libel laws, a the political scandal of Watergate proportions would never have been revealed.
Anyone who is interested (and has an open mind) in this outrageous decision should read an article on this topic in today's Legal Affairs section of the Australian newspaper.It is very enlightening indeed.It makes you wonder who is really running this country; our ELECTED parliamentarians or the unelected judiciary!
