I agree with bythbay due to the current circumstances. Lynas does not want to comment on domestic Malaysian politics. They also want to respect the Malaysian authority on the the pre-operation license review, so how do they say something positive for the situation without sounding pompous? Noting their safety record is a factual way to stick it to the still (after three months) unsubstantiated claims of the NYT and their parrots. And the issue is reassuring to Malaysians.
And Lynas reiterating their construction targets and first feed plans is all they can say without dipping into the Malaysian domestic issues IMO.
This is not the big announcement, but it does remind the shorters they are playing with fire and petrol at the same time. And if they don't cover before the pre-operational approval....
