The sad thing is that the EV people have never properly intellectually addressed their "rainbows and unicorns" political and societal thought processes.

I mean, it's wonderful to contemplate Very Fast Train inter-city connectivity (the inconvenience of air transport generally annoys me, and I would be more than happy to triple my travel time in order to avoid this inconvenience). The expense and the likely ROI is the killer.

It is wonderful to think of not having to "pay" for personal motor vehicle transportation by filling up at a petrol pump every week, and watching the numbers click over (on the $ side, at least) faster and faster.

It's wonderful to think that we can all drive home from work, remember to plug in the 240V fast charger, and hum to work tomorrow on a life-sized mobility scooter with a roof.

It's wonderful to think that we will not be held to ransom by oil exporting collusive marketing organisations, who may not have our national interest at heart.

Rainbow and Unicorn philosophy dictates that "Petrol = Bad, EV = Good".

Well, in Australia at least, this predicates plug-in use of coal-fired base-load generation. Anyone with half a brain can see that this does absolutely nothing regarding whole-of-life CO2 generation. A plug-in EV will add as much to the CO2 levels as would filling the damn thing with premium unleaded.

Not only that, there is no infrastructure current or planned to suit.

It saddens me that the hippie class has been so skilfully played and mislead by the crony capitalists - no self-respecting hippie would even tangentally consider something like LFTR or other nuclear power generation, as a "solution" to coal-fired power generation. Why not?

Hippie philosophy dictates "Nuclear Power = Bad".

The crony capitalists (at least in Australia) have secured the Means of Production of electricity. Totally. The crony capitalists OWN the coal-fired energy business, and they will not give it up without a fight! The crony capitalists have ensured that no alternative energy generation projects will even be glanced at (thus ensuring a 25+ year design/approval/build project lifetime, more than sufficient to rape and pillage for a generation more.

The hippies have thus become the unknowing and unpaid tools of the crony capitalists.

Back on point: Electric vehicles. NOT A CHANCE IN HELL! It is impossible for the existing or planned road infrastructure to suddenly have to cater for millions of hippies and poor folk who suddenly get off their bus or bike, and commute to CentreLink or wherever in their personal electrical mobility device. Despite it being "green".

It will NOT happen. It cannot happen. Just imagine the effect of petrol suddenly being 15c per litre, as opposed to $1.50. Traffic jams, anyone?

As anyone who has seen the growth of the rooftop solar industry this year will attest, there are no roof-top solar installations in "poor" suburbs, but it has been an amazing and lucrative taxpayer subsidy for the rich. Any sort of EV subsidy, or "assistance" or some-such, will be a subsidy for the rich.

The "Global Warming" industry has been set up to ensure that the crony capitalists make out like bandits. Look at Tim Flannery for an example of gross hypocricy.

Talk about being "useful idiots"!

Peope who constantly preach the crony-capitalist catastrophic anthroponegic global warming text are either "useful idiots" or else part of the system.
