re: re:tom single mums - on your bike! Donhoop I didn't realise working for 15 hrs a week cast us back to the barbarians and constituted slavery.
My point was really about the tax cuts being considered unfair and that some peoples attitudes are they are 'owed' due to whatever situation they find themselves in. I think society would be a lot better if people would step up to there individual responsibilities rather than expect to be looked after.
Having said that a level of social responsibility does benefit us all, and asking people to give back when they are capable (like working a few hours whens the kids are in school) is hardly onerous.
