No I haven't been to Indonesia, but my daughter has, when she was student, and she found the people (in Jogokarta not Bali) very hospitable. But she wasn't a loud mouthed Aussie tourist but a student interested in the language and culture of the country,which, as you aware, is very diverse.
I do have an number of friends who have been to Bali and I certainly would not describe them as loud mouthed Aussies. I am sure, however, that some Aussies would fit that description, but whether they are in the majority I don't know. But Bali, because it is cheap, may attract that type of tourist
