banjar, "maybe" doesn't quite cut it. He went there for the money, just like every other foreigner is there for the money. $30k per month as an average (he was making much more than that) is a great deal of money in a country when the absolute basics are destroyed by the foreigners. When the land has been turned into a cesspool, when the food is hardly existent and very expensive, when even the pro-government forces are sick of the presence of the yanks and feel that the constant attacks happen because of them, when none of the really necessary construction is taking place, when their country is given away to another people, the Kurds, who, as per the usual modus operanti of the yanks, will later fight them to to take the land from them and give it back to the iraqis, when the whole of Iraq has been Balkanised...
I mean these are big and very broad issues which concern the abductors. Indonesia has only its legal system to think about. It seems that the judges in Corby's case are ignorant or downright stupid; and if that sort of ignorance and stupidity is allowed by their legal system then god help anyone who goes there.

Like I said I condemn no one because I don't know the whole story; but I do express what I know and see as I know it and see it.
