I'm getting confusing messages. Some are indicating that Douglas Wood through virtue of his association with American is more of an American than Australian, so were does this leave the likes of BeeGees, Mel Gibson, Russel Crowe,etc didn't we claim them and many other celebrities with similar links, to be real Australians. Whilst many are supporters of the troops that went into Iraq as part of the invading forces that have wreaked so much damage to the Iraqi infrastructure, to the point many Iraqis are living in conditions that is impacting on their health, apparently we do not support those who are going there to help rebuild that badly needed infrastructure so Iraqis can rebuild their lives and their country. Instead we vitually accuse such people of being parasites. If we don't supply our expertise to help the Iraqis rebuild then who is? Should we write off those who do? If Douglas Wood was employing 200 people, a large number, if not all of them would of been Iraqis. Whilst he may have been making money, it would have only been a portion of what was being pumped back into the Iraqi economy by creating urgently needed jobs. I think he deserves a lot more credit than has been accorded him.
