IMO, a bid from RIO and BHP is worse than fanciful. It's really stupid an idea - I actually haven't read the article.
Never mind the political repercussions from an angry and bitter Chinese government who loves to tear BHP to shreads and once labelled RIO a deceitful and dishonest bride for the double cross in the form of a BHP-RIO JV announced days after ditching the Chinalco deal (up to the last minute Albanese fooled the Chinese with his support of China buying into Hammersley).
BHP and RIO can't expand fast enough their capacity in the Pilbara.
Why on earth will they bother with Sundance.
