I have seen it over and over again on the science forum where the first attack from AGWers is often an attempt to discredit the scientist* without discussing their message.
Prevously yeldub had posted: "Lord" Monckton makes grade 5 mistakes* in almost all his analysis and you hold him up as some sort of expert .....
Following this post Sism had asked yeldub for details of the grade 5 mistakes* .
Clearly you have tagged the "Lord" as being a scientist*. You may not have meant to but the fact remains.
I am sure that you will agree, whether you are concerned about a matter as important as global warming or just worried about paying a bit more tax, that it is important that we all have the most accurate information available so that we can confidently make our personal judgment on the matter. For the layman part and parcel of having this confidence is knowing the level of expertise behind what we are read and told. That is, does the "teller" know what he is talking about? The "Lord" does not hold a science degree in anything at all. This should be pointed out to all and sundry simply because he is not an expert in any of the sciences which can give us an insight into the matter. In other words Monckton is a layman. . - just as you and I are.
