Most people admire the work of our scientists and appreciate that organisations from the CSIRO to National Geographic have made enormous contributions to our understanding. Relative to other 'professions' many scientists work for peanuts and are driven by factors other than greed.
For the record Andrew Bolt is not a scientist. IMO he is a media personality whose career depends on sensational presentation of material to a gullible public.
Scientists' work is often ignorantly ridiculed for decades before it is publicly accepted - you may wish to read up on what people originally said about Alfred Wegener's theories about continental drift and plate tectonics for example.
No-one questions that science any more & currently demand that it develops rapidly into a more predictive tool of earthquakes etc! That's what I think will also happen with the science of climate change - one unfortunately already hijacked by media shock jocks and by forces with vested interests in advising people on which crops to grow where etc.
