Why has NKP been such a poor performer? One doesn’t have to look too far through the treads on HC for a whole bunch of answers. Anyway here is my top 10 list of crappola inducing sentiments: (Not in any order).
(1) The credibility of the Board
(2) The seemingly never ending continuum of legal wrangles
(3) The lack of communications with investors
(4) Cash is being burnt for no progress
(5) Platinum price history and outlook not too flash. (Same price now as it was 2 years ago & the ‘White Book’ forecasts supply to exceed demand in 2012 for example by 1.77 million ozs)
(6) The slow but persistent withdrawal of super miners like RIO from South Africa largely because of (7) – (10) below.
(7) The risk of nationalisation
(8) New requirements that mining companies in South Africa now have to adhere to
(9) Electricity charges going gang busters – up 25% in the last 2 years and that is if you can get it to your site
(10) Labour strikes and shortages plus a new mine workers union and new labour laws
So why am I still holding? Like Micawber I’m waiting for something to turn up that might mitigate my losses. Other than that sheer stupidity I guess.
I tried making a list of wonderful things about NKP but came to a halt after fantastic resource.
