just bearish on the economy as a whole....
the backbone of all that matters....
hard to shut your eyes to whats going on out there...

I just take the same old route for shopping everyday...so to see 'closing down' signs in such a short space, area is rather concerning...
either that ...or a 'for lease' sign...is in place....where I missed, or they did not bother with the warning of closing down...they simply shut up shop..

I dont drive around much, or venture away...but I just might take a look today...
yesterday I went to get takeaway for my daughter, a little outside my usual route...and there was another 'closed sign' and all boarded up...on a new bar/cum nightspot

went for lunch at my fav japanese place....we were the only 2 customers for the 1.5 hours we were there...
the main drag was packed with families, kids on school holidays the past 2 weeks...on sunny days...
but drive down the main entertainment precinct on any evening...it is almost empty....it is eerie...

hospitality is doing it really tuff....

there is absolutely no confidence out there....and nothing will change , whilst we keep going backwards....under the rudd/gillard experiment.....

only a change in politics will provide some confidence for consumers...
I suggest it will be a long time before we see the confidence restored...in the meantime a stack of small businesses have closed down forever...they will not recover...
check out the economics forum...the thread, job losses in oz..
