re: don school uniform policy chaos Don, I've chatted with friends who are teachers and from my own experience ..... have no problem with school uniforms. if parents work out what they want and not get too carried away with the process it makes much sense.
One teacher friend said that at his inner city school if there were no uniforms someone could and would just walk into the yard off the street and he wouldn't know the difference.
Where people get carried away with uniformity is in private schools where the child is deemed a product. Usually these schools have prefect systems instead of democratic student groups. Just feel that if I were a teacher in a secondary school, a simple school uniform policy would minimise a great deal time consuming nonsense. e.g. like a kid turning up in his pyjamas or singlet and thongs.
