A bit of perspective is indeed needed here. Here is what my geologist mate brought to my attention. he sent:

Here are a number of enormous mines that that only have grades on or slightly above .5g/ton. But just like Andewa they are big. In fact Andewa may prove to be considerably bigger than all of them if 3D is to go by as an indicator. Then you factor in the one short hole in one area so far. Hardly a true indication of anything OTHER than, thank God, there actually is gold and copper here. If there had been no traces then I would have been concerned. Even if the entire deposit is only .5 to 1g per ton this good old site could still be worth a f$%^ fortune, its hard to do the sums but based on some of the other mines of similar type maybe billions. (in my opinion) but it will be a longer period of time to develop. Is it a Lihir or bigger than Lihir like many seemed to hope, can't really tell yet, my gut tells me no, but it could still be worth nearly as much. We just need to get the gold/copper grades up a bit on next holes, even a couple more grams per ton will greatly increase the potential of Andewa and put us back in the running for a truelly enormous mine.
