The cost burden is small, low income earners get compensated and most of the money raised can be retained here. In fact, by participating in a global scheme we will be able to draw in funds form overseas as well.
The tax is now set to become law before the end of the year. We will have a mechanism that will incentivise reductions in fossil carbon pollution. Most thinking people recognise that reducing carbon emissions is a good thing.
