Diligent, you don't seem to be drawing a distinction between religion as a philosophy and organised religion as in The Catholic Church, etc. A very big difference. Your review of past slaughters clearly ignores money, power, territory and blames it all on religion. Hence, your analysis is somewhat simplistic. As an example, in 500years history will likely see Sept11 as murder in the name of religion whereas the economic and political reasons will probably be forgotten.
