Since when is $20000 in a family wealthy? That compensation is peanuts, and the one thing that is guaranteed about this is electricity prices will rise.
People will not associate the tax changes with the carbon tax and will blame the government that developed the carbon tax every time they get a bill in the mail. We saw it in the GST.
