You would think we would learn from history, and put in place the means to be self sufficient and be able to defend ourselves independent from ally support, especially with our resources to be able to do this, plus the fact that one day our allies might be occupied elsewhere and not able to help us out.
... hold on, what has our Govt. been doing for the past number of years, any new infrastructure or development ? .... no, only talk, taxes and red tape, a boon for eyes from the North or where ever.
IMO, we should have a lot more air power as well as a Nuclear deterrent of some sort.
