One thing that was emphasised in the recent tour was that LNC are still strongly committed to UCG. In the case of their US fields the anticipated increased production is underpinned by using EOR, and the CO2 to do this will come from UCG.

Initially outside CO2 will be used as is currently by Rancher. However when LNC starts UCG in Wyoming this will provide the CO2. The long term aim is to use UCG syngas for both EOR and GTL (with small power plant for on site use). Between starting UCG and completing GTL plant the syngas will probably just be burned and CO2 collected.
