    Absolutely not.

The balance of this post is copied from another I made on a CSG company thread earlier today.

For much of the past year and until fairly recently, I felt increasing frustration as anti CSG comments gained traction.

But I've come to see things differently now.

The Qld and NSW governments will not walk away from mutli billion dollar stimulatory developments and multi billion dollar royalty revenue streams ... they just wont ... and the Federal govt will assist those two state governments to ensure the development happens.

Furthermore, none of those three governments can afford to to be seen:

    1. to be associated with the inevitable near term blow out in east coast electricity prices though inaction or mistaken action and past policies that delay implementation of viable alternatives

    2. to have killed off a pragmatic, carbon efficient gas powergen option

    3. to support or encourage the coal powergen industry, which in Victoria includes the world's dirtiest coal fired power plant and several more in the top ten dirtiest

The biggest disconnect in all this imo lies with the protestors, aided and abetted by a media where shocking headines rule and reality and truth struggle.

The protestors imo are showing thinking that is thicker than an old forrest kauri tree in wanting to kill off gas powergen and other emerging scalable greener powergen when the only possible outcome of their success is continued and even increased reliance on the dirtiest, carbon polluting coal powergen industry.

If the protestors win this battle they will surely lose the war ... how will they explain this to their children?
