Did you get a chance to read the link I posted on 14/10 at 14:24 on the "Give us a break" thread?
Basically it says that oil discoveries are very common if you persevere and drill past the basement in this part of the World.
In fact in some areas like Korea and a lot of the other areas of the world they have made significant discoveries having revisited those wells that were plugged and abandoned because they thought they have reached the end or what is termed as a "Basement". In places like Korea this is common practice now.
