massive sulphides can be 100% pyrite. No value there.
Copper is hard to discriminate visually in a matrix of massive pyrite, sometimes impossible.
HH XRF might be getting hits and misses - the machine takes a point sample. If the chalco is blebby, the results would be 9 misses for 1 hit.
That's some excuses anyway.
Not really sure about the "nefarious" intentions others have commented on.
