exactly....it has been around since 2000...the kids are used to it.... it proovides a real incentive for the state and fed govnuts.... both gain significant advantage by the way of increased taxes in all forms.... the introduction of the GST was supposed to reduce the other taxes and stamp duty charges imposed by the state govts... but the feds renigged on the deal...and instead of reimbursing the states...on their share of the GST....the feds distribute it on an unfair basis...
state govnuts are handcuffed, being reliant on the feds to give them money....for the basics...health, education, roads etc...
so the states have to be more independent on how they get their funds...hence gambling, property taxes...and other measures to pay for all the things that the feds will not provide... just as an example....current fed labor provides huge incentives and kickbacks to the independent's electorates to keep them on side... it is grossly unfair.... barbaric, bribery...why should windsor and oakshotts, wilkie's electorates receive millions of dollars in bribe money....when most electorates are screaming out for a fair share... all taxpayers should have a fair share in the allocation of the taxes they pay.. end of rant
