The presence of the drugs in her bag was only part of building the case, the evidence of the customs officer as to her response during the search was also a major part of it, and the more I think about it the more convinced I become that the custom officers version of events is more likely to be correct. Customs officers are trained to assess people accurately and to be clear in asking the appropriate questions and getting clear answers. In this case the drugs had been detected prior to Corby presenting herself for inspection and the Customs officer was aware of what of what to look for regarding her actions and reactions. When interviewed on TV he seemed to be a disclipined and clear thinking sort of person in complete control whilst under the scrutiny of the TV cameras. He certainly wasn't vague or appear unsure of himself.
