I don't know all the details except for what has been reported via media. Personally I will never go to Indonesia. Their punishments are too harsh for what is easily manipulated event. To the drug mules who are caught red handed this risk is part of there business. In this case where a family is on holiday and a 14 year old is caught with a small amount purchased in Indonesia, I find it unconscionable that the boy be treated similar to the drug mule. I feel far more compassion to those who are 'set up' because of the lucrative and high risk incidental to the drug industry. So to be honest - because I am aware of the Indonesian penalties, their tenacious pursuit and importantly the manipulative drug industry I will not go to Indonesia and advise my family to be the same.
