FYI things happen a lot quicker in SA. Australia has become a real nanny state. So many rules, laws, by-laws, procedures and processes. I love this country but I have never lived anywhere (SA, UK, Switzerland incl.) where there are so many rules and health and safety concerns. In addition the legal system combined with the litigation culture makes sure that any dispute gets caught up in court for years.

In my opinion the biggest challenge working in South Africa is corruption. I would hazard to guess a very large chunk of the high operational costs and "consulting fees" is very "special" payments. I guess that's their carbon & resources tax ;o)
