ABC radio here in Melbourne devoted some time to callers this morning. One was the father of a 15 yo girl who had been fined $1200 for wilful damage.
It was difficult not to believe he was sending everybody up - but this was his claim
She had only gone there to have a look during her school lunch break (go figure) and she was a victim of entrapment because undercover police allowed her to paint "ban the bomb" signs and flowers before arresting her. When asked what she used to do the painting he said it was just mascara. When asked what she painted on - he said it was a police car.
Now as a cross dresser I know how hard it is to paint in mascara - and the young girl obviously had the same trouble because she also, somehow, got involved with using nail polish to decorate the police car.
The father said she had previously attended other protest rallies - well one would have by age 15 - but had never been arrested.
