Not refractory means that the gold in the fresh rock and also weathered material can be recovered by cyanidation (CIL or CIP) as the gold is not locked up in other minerals such as sulphides.

This means that a treatment plant for Smarts will not need an expensive and finicky sulphide treatment plant such as a roaster or biox plant to recover gold from the deeper ores at depth- this equals cheaper processing costs and cheaper plant capex costs.... and also less chances for stuff-ups in a complicated plant.

With the grades Azimuth are hitting and likely cheap processing options all the ducks are lining-up for this one to become a mint.

I notice they have also just appointed a COO ex Perseus and the sub-text here is "lets get a team in place early to drive development studies ASAP."
