A Qantas spokesman confirmed the pilots' union had been granted approval by Fair Work Australia to take stoppages for up to two days.
Just proves that this journalist is lazy. If he spent a few minutes googling, he could come to the conclusion by visiting the fair work australia website and looking at the actual ballot.

AIPA vice president Captain Richard Woodward said pilots had "not taken a single day's strike action and nor do we wish to. Management, on the other hand, has suspended negotiations with pilots in front of Fair Work Australia with no plans to resume them.
