The state governments have two forms of legal robbery, one is red light and speed camera fines and the other is gambling taxes.
All state governments are addicted to both.

Regards poker machines, which I play about once a year, I think the social damage they do could be reduced by having lower wagering amounts. A problem gambler could still lose a lot but it would take a lot longer to do so and that should alleviate the problem which you will never stop.
