Oil prices at nearly 3-Month high Tuesday; gold soars 3%

Oil prices jump to their highest level in nearly three months on Tuesday and gold prices soar to their highest level in a month. Jerry DiColo explains what's behind the surge in commodity prices on The News Hub.

Markets also awaited for the headlines from Europe as euro-zone leaders were scheduled to hammer out a sweeping plan to try to contain area’s sovereign-debt crisis.

Oil prices ended higher for the past three sessions, to tally a gain of $7.10 and settle at a 12-week high on Tuesday. Technical conditions, including a settlement above $90 early in the week, and pressure on Brent, Europe’s benchmark contract, contributed to the rise.

In addition to the European news, investors focused on inventories.

The American Petroleum Institute said late Tuesday oil inventories rose 2.7 million barrels in the week ended Oct. 21.

Gasoline stockpiles rose 153,000 barrels, while inventories of distillates declined 1.8 million barrels.

The Energy Information Administration is scheduled to report its data at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.

Analysts polled by Platts expect the EIA to report oil stockpiles up 200,000 barrels, gasoline stocks down 1.25 million barrels, and distillates stocks down 1.5 million barrels.

and europe still towers above us but guess what we stagnate because holders believe terry will bring home the bacon disclore hold lt sentiment want more
