what a day for the ASX to be down, we were certainly denied a great trading opportunity as the rumours started circulating about the finalisation of the EU rescue package, there was a brief 5-10 minute period where currency markets indicated a deal had been done before global markets started to fully move.
finally we might be able to get back to a trading environment dictated by economic data and company announcements rather than rumours/whispers appearing from the black of the night.
for me will be very interested to see if the volume starts to return to the spec end of things, the volume has been horrible for months with only the odd spec stock mustering enough volume to safely trade in and out of on an intra-day basis.
for those hoping for a rate cut on tuesday, I have the feeling this afternoons EU debt deal and likely short term market euphoric push might have put an end to those hopes.
