World precious metals against spot sellng prices on Asian markets.

Gold fell $1.60 to $1724.90z, silver sold 14c higher at $33.61 oz Platinum gained $5.00 to $1598 oz while palladium improved $3 to $655 oz

By comparison prices in New York and London overnight were:

COMEX METALS... spot gold is currently $1721.12 oz. The Nov gold contract rose $23.10 to $1722.70 oz, the Dec contract rose $23.10 to $1723.50 oz. Nov silver was up 25.7c to $33.294 oz. Nov platinum rose $28.60 to $1593.40 oz and Nov copper rose 6.9c to 348.80c lb.

LONDON METAL EXCHANGE... official cash ask prices were: copper $7720.50 tonne (pre $7590.50), tin $21,810 (pre $22,290), lead $1937.50 (pre $1961.50), zinc $1843 (pre $1837), aluminium $2195.50 (pre $2195) and nickel $19,635 (pre $19,825).

The 3-month ask prices were copper $7735 (pre $7602), tin $21,875 (pre $22,250), lead $1962.50 (pre $1990), zinc $1863.50 (pre $1860), aluminium $2219 (pre $2221) and nickel $19,655 (pre $19,900).



OIL... Dec crude fell $2.97 to $90.20 a barrel, with a high of $93.92 and a low of $90.00. The Jan contract fell $2.75 to $90.18 a barrel with a high of $93.68 and low of $89.99. Brent ICE for Dec fell $1.67 to $109.25 a barrel with a high of $110.92 and a low of $108.85.



Reuters CRB index is down 3.83 points to 316.15.

US DOLLAR... is changing hands at 76.09 yen (pre 76.08), against the euro it is $US1.3958 (pre 1.3906) against sterling $US1.6004 (pre 1.6002) and against the Swiss franc $US1.1373 (pre 1.1390).





AUSTRALIAN DOLLAR... is changing hands at $US1.0471 compared with $US1.0400 on yesterday's close. Offshore the Aussie posted a high of $US1.0488 and low of $US1.0384. Against the yen it is at 79.67 (pre 79.35) at 75.03 euro cents (pre 74.98) and 65.44 British pence (pre 65.17).

TAPIS OIL......Malaysian/ Singapore crude yesterday sold at $122.50 barrel.

It is used to help calculate Australian petrol prices.
