    If ~40% of Australians gamble at some point in time then it follows that ~60% do not [the majority]. Even if only a tiny percentage of people die on our roads the majority accept the need for practical road rules.

    As for that BBC article, it was referenced because it was readable, not because it was inaccurate.

    As for not being aware of any evidence of crime - violence linked to pokie venues ranging from clubs to pubs & casinos, surely you jest. If not read Sunday's papers.

    I do agree that loan sharks operate more widely than gambling houses though!
