Just trying to keep a level playing field as everybody is quoting annualised return. Banks quote that to you when you lodge money on Term Deposit (imagine them saying we will pay you .5% for 30 days, they get more hits with offering 6% pa payable in 30 days)

Cherry picking...well it was used solely for the example. Most traders would have been in within 10-15% of those turning points. Do the numbers & it still leaves the SDL 'Guaranteed' wanting on potential return, further the deal may not evenuate & there are better returns out there with significantly less risk & hence the reason for my reply.

The reason I initially invested with SDL was I followed Ken Talbot, his investments/his philosophy & believed the story. Sadly as Westcott has eluded, SDL is no longer the same company. Direction & control of SDL is no longer solely in the hands of SDL. Laking of drilling & suring up more potential reserves was the deal breaker. Action or lack tere of speak louder than words. They should be spending every cent in their coffers drilling & crowing to the world the size of this deposit. Why not, one can only speculate, & would be a good question at AGM

I don't want to influence anybody into selling, just to make an informed decision (& not holding on out of fear of missing out or ignorance). It is a tough decision & I have been there & done that.

You have to do what is right for you. This can still fail or succeed magnificiently.

For me, the risk is no longer warranted & have closed my position (as sick as that makes me feel in the guts) & forgone perhaps another $100k in profits in 7 months. But I know how I & my family would feel to not only loose the profit but the underlying capital.

I may reenter but it will be only for a trade.
